My name is Kaily Turner, and I am a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. My counselling experience spans a variety of settings, including work as a Reproductive Mental Health Counselling Intern at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver, an Addictions Counsellor for a women’s second-stage treatment program in Edmonton and at Crossroads Healing Centre in Lethbridge, and working with children, youth, adults, couples, and families with diverse challenges and needs.

In my private practice (open since 2017), I work with clients across different ages and life stages, focusing on building coping skills, strengthening attachment and connections, and improving communication.

My approach to counselling is to create a safe, collaborative environment where clients feel supported, regardless of their challenges. I believe that everyone has the capacity to grow, and my role is to facilitate self-awareness, expand coping skills, and help regulate the body and mind.

In addition to the therapeutic relationship, I use an eclectic approach tailored to each client, drawing from my training and experience. This includes:

  • Psychoeducation on physiology and the neurobiology/biochemistry of mental health

  • Internal Family Systems-informed skills - completing Level 1 training

  • Narrative Exposure Therapy (Trauma-focused)

  • Adlerian therapy, attachment work

  • Interpersonal neurobiology and somatic therapy

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Solution-focused, strengths-based, and mindfulness techniques

Together, these approaches provide practical tools, insight, and support to help clients navigate life’s challenges and work toward meaningful growth.

Another area I am passionate about is teaching. I teach psycho-educational workshops to different groups in the community. I have always had a heart for supporting individuals of all ages and love inspiring and encouraging others to see their full potential.

Outside of work I am married and have two daughters. In my free time I play the bass guitar, paint, build miniatures, travel, exercise, enjoy a good coffee with a pastry and love spending time with my family and friends.
